ELIJAH – TYPOLOGY 4
Here at Samaria Elijah confronted king Ahab with the obligations of the law of God. Can we expect the next Elijah, John the Baptist to do the same? Can we expect the end time Elijahs to tell the world that the law of God is still binding?
Here at the Jordan river John the Baptist told his audience to break with sin, obey the law of God and be converted.
Here on the banks of the Jordan River he told king Herod Agrippa that he is transgressing God’s holy law by marrying his brother’s wife.
He reprimanded him for divorcing Huldu, daughter of king Aretas from Petra. Will the end time Elijahs also proclaim the binding character of the law of God? Yes.
Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
It was here at Muhraqa on Mount Carmel that Elijah repaired a broken altar on which he sacrificed an innocent animal.
He not only preached the law, he also preached the gospel.
Here on the banks of the Jordan river John the Baptist not only preached the law, he pointed people to Jesus, the Lamb of God which takes away the sins of the world.
Can we expect the end time Elijahs to preach both the law and the prophets? Yes.
Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Some scholars believe that Jezebel trained her Baal priests here at Baalbek. She did not like what Elijah preached and she persecuted him. Will the preaching of law and grace call for persecution during the time of the second Elijah?
Here at Mukawir Herodias persecuted John the Baptist. She did not like what he preached. By preaching law and grace John the Baptist lost his life.
Will there be an end time woman who will persecute the end time Elijahs because the preach law and grace?
Revelation 17:6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.
What kind of religion do the saints practise?

Many thoughts went through my mind when I studied the law code of Hamurabi in the Louvre at Paris. These laws were weird and unreasonable. The gods who gave him this law were very strict. There was no mercy mingled with citizens who disobeyed.
Above the ark in which the law of God was kept, there was a mercy seat. God expects obedience. But when we falter and fall, He has the mercy and the heart to forgive us. This is the beauty of the Elijah message. I invite you to embrace this beautiful saving message of the last days.
